Our Military Objective
Company D, 116th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (Southern California - Reenactor) honors soldiers who served in the Union Army's Irish Brigade. We do this through our commitment to replicating a respectful and realistic living history portrayal of their actions and military life style. With this objective as a guide, members of Company D shall:
1. Participate in battle reenactments, living history programs, and historic preservation activities as members of the unit;
2. Maintain high standards of authenticity in personal conduct, dress, activities and representation at reenacting events;
3. Collectively provide to members of the public an educational living history impression;
4. Explore innovative methods of living history portrayal and set an example for other American Civil War reenactors to emulate;
5. Support and motivate fellow members in learning 19th Century United States Army military drill, ceremonies, tactics, and related life style;
6. Be collectively responsible for their own safety and that of others;
7. Act with courtesy toward fellow members, other reenactors, and the public; and,
8. Never engage in any activity or action that brings disgrace upon themselves, their comrades, Company D or the Civil War soldiers we honor.
